Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 23 April 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements the Terms of Service and describes activities that are not permitted on Reckon, the Notion-native task manager operated by Carrotly Pte. Ltd. It applies to anyone who uses the mobile app, the web service at usereckon.com, or any of our APIs.
1. Lawful use only
You may use Reckon only for lawful purposes and only in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the laws of Singapore and any laws that apply to you in your country of residence.
2. Prohibited content
You must not use Reckon to store, process, transmit, or otherwise handle:
- Content that infringes intellectual property rights, violates trade secrets, or breaches confidentiality obligations
- Content that is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, hateful, or that incites violence
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — we will report any such content to the appropriate authorities
- Malware, ransomware, exploit code, or instructions for performing computer crimes
- Personal data of others that you do not have a lawful basis to process
- Regulated data that you are not authorised to handle through a consumer SaaS product (for example, classified government information or large-scale primary clinical records)
3. Prohibited activities
You must not:
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or any other security or access control
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Reckon app, web service, or backend, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, headless browsers) to interact with the service beyond what the published client app does
- Resell, sublicense, or operate Reckon as part of a service offered to third parties without our written agreement
- Use the Notion proxy in a way that materially affects performance for other users, including by issuing pathological request volumes against a single workspace
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service except under the responsible disclosure terms at /security
- Use the service to send unsolicited bulk communications (spam) or to phish third parties
- Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organisation
4. Notion API compliance
Reckon is a Notion OAuth integration. Your use of Reckon must also comply with Notion's API Terms of Use and the Notion Terms of Service. If those terms are stricter than this AUP on a given point, the stricter terms apply.
5. Reporting violations
To report a suspected violation of this AUP — for example, abusive use of the service or content that violates section 2 above — email hello@usereckon.com. Reports about a specific account should include enough information for us to identify the account (the workspace name and/or the email of the account owner) and a description of the alleged conduct.
6. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in one or more of the following actions:
- A warning and a request to remediate
- Temporary suspension of access to the service
- Permanent termination of the account and deletion of associated data
- Referral to law enforcement, where the conduct may constitute a criminal offence
We will use reasonable judgment in choosing the response. For serious violations (CSAM, active abuse causing harm to others, attempts to compromise the service) we may suspend access immediately and without notice.
7. Changes
We may revise this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced at least 14 days before they take effect.
