Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know before requesting a TestFlight invitation — what Reckon is, what it costs, how sync works, and how we treat your data. Can't find your question? Email hello@usereckon.com and we'll get back to you within a few business days.

What is Reckon?

Reckon is a native task manager for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch that uses your Notion database as the system of record. It is built by Carrotly Pte. Ltd., a private limited company based in Singapore. The app talks to Notion via the official Notion API; your task content (titles, notes, dates) lives in Notion, not on Reckon's servers.

Who is Reckon for?

Reckon is for people who already use Notion as their single source of truth and want a fast, native mobile client for managing tasks. It is not a replacement for Notion or a separate todo system — it is a thin, well-designed lens onto a Notion database you already maintain.

How much does Reckon cost?

Reckon is currently free during the closed beta. Pricing will be announced before the public launch. Existing users will be given clear advance notice and a fair migration path.

Does Reckon store my tasks?

No. Task content lives in Notion. Reckon's servers proxy API calls and never persist task data. The only data we keep on our side is your Notion account email, your encrypted Notion OAuth tokens, your Apple push device tokens, operational logs, and pseudonymous product-usage events. The full breakdown is in our Privacy Policy.

How are my Notion tokens protected?

Notion OAuth access and refresh tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being written to the database. The encryption key is held in a secret manager. Tokens are deleted within 60 seconds of disconnecting your workspace or deleting your account.

Does Reckon work offline?

Yes. The iOS app keeps a local cache of your task database and queues writes when the device is offline. When connectivity returns, the app reconciles its local changes with Notion using an outbox pattern; conflicts are resolved last-write-wins per field.

How does sync between devices work?

When you complete a task on one device, the change is sent to Notion via Reckon's rate-limited API proxy. Notion fires a webhook back to our backend, which converts it into an Apple Push Notification Service silent push to every other device on the same workspace. The other devices then pull the delta. Typical end-to-end latency is a few seconds.

Which devices does Reckon support?

Reckon runs natively on iPhone (iOS 17+), iPad (iPadOS 17+), Apple Watch (via the Apple Reminders bridge), and Mac (Apple Silicon). It is not available on Android or Windows. There is no web app for managing tasks — the website at usereckon.com is for OAuth, marketing, and legal pages only.

Is Reckon affiliated with Notion?

No. Reckon is an independent product built by Carrotly Pte. Ltd. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Notion Labs, Inc. We use Notion's public OAuth and API surface like any other third-party developer.

Does Reckon use my data to train AI models?

No. We do not use your task content, account metadata, or usage data to train AI models — either ours or anyone else's. Your data is processed only to deliver the Reckon service.

How do I delete my account?

Open the Reckon iOS app, go to Settings → Account → Disconnect workspace, and confirm deletion. Your OAuth tokens are erased within 60 seconds. Backups expire automatically within 30 days. You can also email hello@usereckon.com from your Notion account email to request deletion.

Where can I report a bug or request a feature?

Email hello@usereckon.com. We read every message and reply within a few business days. Security issues should be reported with the subject line 'Security disclosure' so they reach our responsible-disclosure channel first.

How can I get TestFlight access?

Email hello@usereckon.com with the subject line 'TestFlight access' and we will send you an invitation. We are letting beta testers in gradually so we can keep response times and reliability high.
