Cookie Policy
Last updated: 23 April 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar storage technologies used on usereckon.com. It supplements our Privacy Policyand is published to satisfy the transparency obligations of the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC), the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), and Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
1. Summary
We use one cookie. It is a first-party, httpOnly session cookie that is strictly necessary to keep you signed in while you use the site. We do not run analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies on this website. Because the cookie we use is strictly necessary, you do not need to consent to it under EU/UK law and we do not display a cookie banner.
2. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device through your browser. Cookies allow a website to recognise your browser across requests — for example, to keep you signed in or to remember a preference. "Similar technologies" (such as localStorage or web beacons) work in comparable ways; we treat them the same as cookies for the purposes of this policy.
3. Cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | Category | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
reckon_session | Maintains your authenticated session after sign-in. httpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax, first-party. | Strictly necessary | Session (cleared when you close the browser) or up to 30 days if "keep me signed in" is selected |
Strictly-necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive because they are essential to provide a service you explicitly requested. We do not use this cookie for any other purpose.
4. Cookies we do not use
We do not set or use any of the following on usereckon.com:
- Analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, Plausible, Matomo, etc. in the browser)
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Social media tracking pixels (no Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.)
- Cross-site or third-party tracking cookies
Inside the Reckon iOS app we collect pseudonymous product-usage events through PostHog and crash reports through Sentry, both keyed to a random device ID. These do not use browser cookies and are covered in our Privacy Policy.
5. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. If you block the strictly-necessary cookie above, you will not be able to sign in to the web service. Major browsers publish their own instructions:
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we do not engage in cross-site tracking or sell personal information, the Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals have nothing to opt out of on this site. We honour the signals by continuing not to track you.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add cookies in the future (for example, to support an analytics tool that we evaluate and deploy), we will update this policy and, where consent is required, display a banner allowing you to accept or reject the new cookies before they are set.
